Could you pass the Texas adjuster exam? Ten questions from the Insurance Code.
The Texas All-Lines Adjuster exam is the state licensing exam for insurance claims adjusters, and because Texas is widely accepted as a home state for reciprocity it is the first licence many adjusters earn even when they live elsewhere. Pearson VUE administers it for the Texas Department of Insurance: 150 four-option multiple-choice questions, a 150-minute limit, and a passing score of 70 — about 105 of 150 correct. The licence runs two years and renews with 24 hours of continuing education, and you can qualify either by sitting the exam or by finishing a TDI-approved pre-licensing course within the previous 12 months.
The exam follows a published blueprint with three weighted areas: general property-and-casualty product knowledge (40%), insurance terms and legal concepts (40%), and Texas insurance law, licensing and claim practices (20%) — twelve domains in all, from the standard fire policy and the homeowners and auto forms through marine, bonds and workers' compensation to the Texas prompt-payment and unfair-claim-settlement rules. The ten questions below come out of the Texas Adjuster Exam Prep app's 251-question bank; every question in it names the statute, rule or regulator's guide that makes its answer correct, and anything that could not be traced to one was cut rather than shipped.
