What it is
A calculator for the moment every knitter knows: the swatch doesn't match the pattern's gauge. Enter both gauges and the size you want, and Gauge Swap computes the exact cast-on, shows the size the pattern's numbers would really produce, and plans yardage and yarn substitutions.
Why we built it
Gauge math is the universal knitting pain — get it slightly wrong and a 40-inch sweater comes out at 44 — and the incumbent apps are ancient. Gauge Swap does the arithmetic knitters currently do on pattern margins: rescaling counts, snapping to stitch repeats, converting between the per-4-inch and per-10-cm conventions, and telling the honest truth about finished size before the third skein.
